Filipino-American heartthrob Sam Milby continues to be one of the most bankable and successful Kapamilya stars.
Milby’s 2010 teleserye “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor” was recently nominated in the outstanding telenovela category in the 39th International Emmy Awards to be in held New York this coming November 21st.
“I would say, it’s such a very overwhelming feeling, something that obviously doesn’t happen often,” said Milby.
Milby’s Impostor co-star Maja Salvador was in New York for the Teleserye Royals U.S. Tour, Friday.
Salvador said, “Grabe yung Impostor, grabe yung mga telerserye na ginagawa ng ABS-CBN, pwedeng pang-international.”
Milby also told ABS-CBN that he is meeting with three major talent agencies in New York Monday.
Among them, International Creative Management or I.C.M. – a full service talent agency whose clients include Academy Award-Winners like Jodie Foster, Robert Duvall, Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Oscar nominated Fill-Am actress Hailed Steinfeld.
Milby was first noticed by some U.S. TV network agents who saw him perform live at the Los Angeles and New York leg of his recent Star Magic U.S. Tour.
After a few rounds of auditions and interviews for the role of an Asian Guy in a still unnamed Pilot TV series in Hollywood, it now comes down to Milby and a Korean actor.
“Nag damming nagtatanong kung aalis ako sa Pilipinas. Kung sealing may trabaho ako dito States, you know it’s just for a period of time tapos babalik ako sa Pilipinas,” said Milby. “Siempre pangarap ko talaga magkaroon ng trabaho sa Hollywood. I’m being hopeful, it looks promising.”
From flipping burgers in Dayton, Ohio to becoming one of the hottest stars in the Philippines, Sam Milby may be Hollywood-bound if his lucky streak continues.
